Two people died in a rear end collision on Highway 34 in southeastern Nebraska Sunday evening.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports 23-year-old Matthew Kirkchhoff of Weeping Water and 22-year-old Emily Widger of Lincoln died at the scene, a mile and a half southeast of Elmwood.
According to the sheriff’s office, Kirchoff was driving west on Highway 34 with Widger as a passenger when a car driven by 25-year-old Edward Koch of Quincy, Illinois struck his car from behind. Koch was taken to a hospital in Lincoln.
The investigation into the crash continues.
