BILLINGS, MT : One man dies after SUV crashes into Musselshell River on early Thursday morning July 10th 2014

A 32-year-old Roundup man died after the sport utility vehicle he was riding in crashed into the Musselshell River early Thursday.

The Montana Highway Patrol says a 21-year-old Billings man was northbound on a county road east of Roundup at 1:25 a.m. when he missed a sharp corner, went off a bridge and into the river.

Trooper Matt Christensen says the driver and a front-seat passenger were able to get out of the SUV, but the back seat passenger was unable to free himself.

Musselshell County Undersheriff Aaron Edwards tells that two deputies pulled the victim from the water and began CPR, but could not resuscitate him.

The victim's name has not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
