Buckeye, AZ : 84-year-old man dies after being found with wife stranded in Buckeye on Tuesday, 2nd July 2019

An 84-year-old man has died after he and his wife became stranded after their vehicle crashed in a Buckeye wash, according to Buckeye police.

The couple had been stranded for an unknown amount of time when Buckeye police found their vehicle while investigating an unrelated case on July 2, but it could have been at least a full day, said Donna Rossi, police spokeswoman.

When paramedics arrived to treat the couple, 84-year-old Russel Becker was pronounced dead at the scene. He showed signs of suffering a head injury when the car crashed in the wash, Rossi said. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner is determining the official cause of his death.
