Dallas, TX : Savanah Michelle Taylor, 21, dead after a head-on collision near Cripple Creek Drive on Monday, April 6, 2015

A Magnolia woman died Monday afternoon after a sport utility vehicle traveling in the opposite direction swerved into her lane and crashed into her SUV head on, according to an accident report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities said 21-year-old Savanah Michelle Taylor was traveling southeast on FM 1774 near Magnolia in a 2012 Ford Edge. A second motorist, Xavier Keyshawn Nero, 17 also of Magnolia, was traveling northwest in a 2001 Ford Explorer.

According to the report, Nero went off the east side of the roadway, over-corrected and encroached into Taylor’s lane of traffic. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nero was treated for injuries and released from St. Luke’s Hospital in The Woodlands.
