Red Bluff, CA : Two minor injuries in Diamond Avenue collision between FedEx and SUV on Wednesday, February 22, 2017

Traffic was briefly halted for about an hour following a collision between a FedEx delivery truck and an SUV about 11 a.m. Wednesday on Diamond Avenue at the Northbound Interstate 5 on-ramp.

Both drivers received minor injuries in the incident, but declined further medical attention and were not transported from the scene, said Red Bluff Police Sgt. Kevin Busekist.

Traffic was closed at the on-ramp with vehicles exiting I-5 turned toward town and vehicles headed toward the on-ramp turned around using Diamond Park as a turnaround point. Red Bluff Fire assisted in the incident.

Traffic was re-opened at least partially about noon after both vehicles, including the FedEx truck that had landed on top of the guardrail to the on-ramp, were removed.

The FedEx truck was traveling northwest on Diamond preparing to pass the on-ramp when the SUV turned directly in front of it, resulting in the collision, Busekist said.
