MIAMI, FL : 2 killed, 3 injured in Turnpike crash on Friday, 31st August 2018

Authorities say two people were killed and three others were injured when an SUV they were riding in crashed on Florida’s Turnpike.

A Florida Highway Patrol news release says the crash occurred Friday morning in Miami-Dade County.

FHP says an SUV was traveling north the Turnpike when it hit a guardrail for unknown reasons. The release says 35-year-old Yamilca Cisnero de Vazquez, 60-year-old Maria Ines Suss and a three-year-old boy were ejected. The two women died at the scene, while the boy, the 33-year-old woman who was driving the SUV and a 59-year-old male passenger were airlifted to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
