Two teenagers died in a single vehicle crash in Highland County Wednesday night.

According to the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kimberly Sears, 17, of Wilmington and Kehte Little, 17, of Sabina were driving New Martinsburg Road in Highland County when their vehicle, which was being driven by Sears, failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree.

The vehicle overturned and landed in a creek on its roof becoming submerged in water, police said.

Sears and Little were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead by the Highland County Coroner.

The OSHP said the crash is still under investigation and that alcohol and drug use do not appear to be factors in the crash.
