Chaves County, NM : Roswell man killed in car crash in Chaves County on Saturday March 5 2016

A Roswell man was killed early Saturday morning after being ejected from a car during a crash in Chaves County, state police said.Jesus Chavez-Nunez, 31, lost control of a car around 1:45 a.m. on U.S. Route 285 north of Artesia. The car went into the median and overturned. Chavez-Nunez was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. He died at the scene, police said.
A passenger, 31-year-old Enrique Payan-Rubio of Roswell, was treated and released from Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
