Three people died Saturday morning after a car and Brown local school bus collided near Minerva during the freezing rain.
A vehicle driven by Savannah Russell, 16, of Minerva lost control on the ice-covered roadway and struck the school bus. Russell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Storm Angione,19, of Paris, Ohio and Aliyia Hancock, 18, of Minerva were passengers in the vehicle with Russell. Angione and Hancock were also pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the school bus sustained minor injuries and there were no injuries to the students on the bus.
The accident happened around 9 a.m. Saturday on US 30, west of Lippincott Road, near the village of Minerva, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said no one on the school bus was hurt, but three people who were in the car died at the scene.
The name and ages of the victims have not yet been released. The Lisbon Patrol Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
