SPRINGFIELD, IL : Springfield police seek witnesses to hit & run crash on Liberty Street that left 2 seriously hurt on Wednesday, 14th August 2019

Police are seeking witnesses to a Wednesday night hit-and-run crash on Liberty Street near Phoenix Terrace that left two people with serious injuries.

Police spokesman Ryan Walsh said the two people who were injured were riding a motor scooter when it was struck by a black SUV that then fled the scene.

Walsh said the SUV is believed to have been a Nissan.

The incident was reported at about 10 p.m., just north of the rotary at Liberty and Armory.
