LINCOLN CITY, OR : Ferndale man dies after crash on Oregon highway on Sunday, August 27, 2017
A Ferndale, Wash., man died in the hospital several days after his car was rear-ended on Highway 101 just north of Lincoln City.
According to Oregon State Police, Dalton Olson, 23, of Ferndale, was waiting to turn left onto NE Devils Lake Road when a southbound Nissan veered over and hit his car from behind.
Olson and his passenger, 22-year-old Danielle Steele, of Blaine, Wash. were both critically injured in the crash.
Olson died of his injuries over the weekend, officials said.
Troopers haven’t found out what caused the other driver, Douglas Quick, 78, of Ventura, Calif., to crash into Olson’s car.
Quick and his wife, 77-year-old Sandra Quick, were also taken to the hospital.
