Enid, OK : Enid man and woman injured in accident on Tuesday

An Enid man and woman were injured Tuesday night in a two-vehicle accident in Harper County.
Alfonso M. Zubia, 48, and Maria T. Zubia, 52, were taken to Woodward Regional Hospital after the accident, then transported by EagleMed to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Both were admitted in critical condition with trunk and leg injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
The accident happened at 11:44 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. 270 and county road N1730.
According to the OHP report, Alfonso Zubia was driving a 2004 Saturn Vue east on U.S. 270 when Joshua L. Welch, 34, of Laverne, turned in front of him. Welch was driving a 2015 Ford F-350 pickup west on U.S. 270 when he attempted to turn left onto N1730 in front of the Zubias' vehicle.
The report lists Welch's condition as "drinking-ability impaired" and the cause of the accident as "alcohol-DUI." The Zubias were wearing seat belts, but Welch was not, according to the report.
