Whiewater Township , MI : 81 - Years old woman killed in 2-car crash on icy highway in Grand Traverse County on Saturday afternoon , January , 10th 2015

Authorities say an 81-year-old Detroit-area woman died in a weekend crash on an icy road in the northwestern Lower Peninsula.

The Grand Rapids Press reports (http://bit.ly/1DyPk0y ) Joan Cavanaugh of Bloomfield Hills died Saturday afternoon on M-72 in Grand Traverse County's Whitewater Township. Sheriff's deputies say she was the passenger in an SUV, which crossed into the path of an oncoming car.

Police didn't say if anybody else was injured.
