Fort Lauderdale, FL : Man, woman killed in weekend crash identified by policeon Sunday, 1st July 2018

A man and woman who died after their car was hit by a sedan driven by a 17-year-old boy were identified Monday by Miramar Police.

Antonio Velazquez, 43, of Miami and Bridgett Swain, 54, of Miami Gardens were killed in the crash around 2 p.m. Saturday in the 7000 block of Pembroke Road, Miramar Police Detective Natasha Richardson said.

Velazquez was driving a Geo Metro and was turning south from Pembroke Road, possibly into a shopping plaza, when the car was struck by a Ford Mustang that was traveling east, Richardson said.

After the crash, the Geo Metro swerved into the shopping plaza that is west of Florida’s Turnpike and stopped before driving into a business, Richardson said.
