MONROE, NC : Man charged in deadly Monroe crash on Wednesday, 2nd November 2016
A man has been charged in a crash that killed another driver in Monroe Wednesday.
The wreck happened on Highway 74 near Dickerson Boulevard.
Police say 51-year-old Jack Allen Willis was driving a Freightliner when he failed to stop for the red light and collided with a 2002 Ford Explorer, being driven by 76-year-old Julianne Reinhardt Voit. Officials say the Freightliner was pulling a utility trailer loaded with a trencher.
Voit was pronounced dead at the scene.
Willis has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and failing to stop for a red light.
Voit's husband has been notified of her death.
