Tanner, AL : Motorist killed after collision with garbage truck in Tanner on Wednesday October 1st 2014.

Athens police are still trying to identify the person who was killed in a two vehicle wreck in Tanner Wednesday afternoon.Police confirm a Republic Services dumpster-style garbage truck was traveling south on U.S. 31 when it hit a Mercury Cougar traveling east on Laughmiller Road at approximately 12:30 p.m. Officers determined the car failed to yield the right of way, causing the large truck to crash into it. The driver of the smaller car was pronounced dead at the scene. The Limestone County Coroner's Office is working with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to identify the driver.
