Burton, SC : One killed in wreck involving motorcycle on Shanklin Rd. in Burton on Wednesday, November 23, 2016

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal wreck on Shanklin Road and Highway 116 in Burton that occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

A vehicle and motorcycle collided and one person, the motorcyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Carolina Highway Patrol will take over the investigation.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Beaufort County Coroner's Office upon notification of next of kin.
