BONDURANT, IA : A fatal crash on Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Polk County deputies have confirmed a fatal crash Wednesday morning.

The crash happened around 8 a.m. on Highway 65 at NE 62nd Ave. near Bondurant.

Deputies at the scene told KCCI a large truck rear-ended a car at the intersection. Both vehicles ended up in the median.

According to deputies, the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The left lanes of Highway 65 were blocked in both directions.

The crash is under investigation.
