Kosciusko County, IN : 1 killed in car-semi crash on US 30 on Monday 29th October 2018

One person died in a crash on U.S. 30 Monday morning, the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said.

About 6:40 a.m., the sheriff's department was called to U.S. 30 at County Road 350 West for a crash involving a semi and a passenger car.

Witnesses told deputies the semi, going north on 350 West, was slowing or stopping at the median to turn west onto U.S. 30 when it was struck by a passenger car going east.

When deputies arrived, they found the car under the semi's trailer. The car's driver, Kristopher R. Reed, 40, of North Judson, died at the scene, the statement said. It said the driver of the semi, Piotr Lubecki, 45, of Wheatfield, was not injured.

It is under investigation.
