Rapid City, SD : 18-year-old killed in crash south of Rapid City on February, Monday 19th 2018
An 18-year-old man died in a one-vehicle crash south of Rapid City on Monday morning.
The man was traveling on S.D. Highway 79 near mile marker 72 when his 2007 Chrysler Town and County van went through a wooden fence, according to a release from the state Department of Public Safety.
The driver, whose identity officials cannot release until his family has been informed, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to investigators from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
Authorities are still trying to determine if weather played a factor in the crash, said public safety department spokesman Tony Mangan.
