Merritt Island, FL : Single-vehicle crash kills Melbourne man on Sunday, 8th December, 2019

One man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Merritt Island, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Melbourne resident Fernando Lopez Palacios, 38, was killed when his car drove off the road on South Courtenay Parkway near Hidden Creek Drive and overturned into a water-filled ditch, said FHP spokeswoman Kim Montes.
Troopers found his car around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. After reviewing video surveillance, troopers determined the crash occurred around 1:22 a.m., Montes said.
FHP is still working to determine what caused Lopez Palacios to drive off the road.
The crash remains under investigation.
