Tinley Park, IL : A man and woman from Chicago died following a three-vehicle crash on Sunday, June 18, 2017

A man and woman from Chicago died following a three-vehicle crash early Sunday in Posen, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Darius A. Stewart, 34, of the 7000 block of South Campbell Avenue, and 32-year-old Robin A. Kelly, of the 6300 block of South Rhodes Avenue, were pronounced dead at the scene following the accident, which occurred just before 12:30 a.m. at 147th Street and Western Avenue, according to the medical examiner and Posen Police Chief William Alexander.

Alexander said that officers responding to the accident found two occupants of one of the vehicles unresponsive. The driver of the vehicle police believe caused the accident was taken to a local hospital where he was being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the chief.

The two people in the third vehicle involved were not hurt, according to Alexander.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and possible charges against the hospitalized driver were being reviewed Monday, according to the chief.
