Vancouver, WA : One person was in a hospital’s intensive care unit following a school bus crash on Wednesday, November, 15th 2017
One person was in a hospital’s intensive care unit following a school bus crash in the Harney Heights area Wednesday morning. No children were aboard the bus, and no one on board was hurt.
Police and fire personnel responded to the intersection of Norris Road and East 18th Street around 7:30 a.m., according to dispatch records, for a call about a passenger vehicle and school bus colliding.
The bus was heading west on 18th, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said, when a driver in Chevrolet Blazer heading south on Norris pulled forward. The bus then T-boned the Blazer.
Kapp said the Blazer’s driver was in a hospital ICU. One passenger suffered minor cuts and declined medical care.
A third passenger was conscious and walking after the crash but was hospitalized for evaluation, Kapp said. Their names were not released.
Only the driver was aboard the Discovery Middle School bus, Vancouver Public Schools spokeswoman Pat Nuzzo said. Another bus came to pick up students who had been waiting for the bus.
Kapp said officers were investigating and that no citations had yet been issued.
