Lexington,MA : Lexington man dies after crash in Cambridge on Sunday, 6th May 2018
A 24-year-old Lexington man died Sunday, May 6, after his car hit a pole in Cambridge, trapping him in his 2005 Honda Accord, according to State Police.
Patrick Burns, a Lexington High Class of 2012 graduate, was reportedly driving alone when he crashed around 4:18 a.m., according to State Police Sgt. Nicole Morrell. The crash occurred at Sozio rotary on Concord Avenue near the Fresh Pond Mall, according to Cambridge Police Deputy Superintendent Jack Albert. CPD officers assisted in closing off the street as State Police investigated and cleared the scene.
Cambridge EMS transported Burns to Mount Auburn Hospital, where he died sometime later.
“This case has been referred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death,” according to an email from Meghan Kelly, director of communications for Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.
