Chesterfield County, VA : Northern Virginia man killed and a passenger injured in a crash on Hull Street Road in Chesterfield on Tuesday, April 12, 2016

One person was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle accident on Rt. 360 in Chesterfield County.

The accident occurred in the 20200 block of Hull Street Road (Rt. 360) around 7:35 p.m. in the vicinity of Skinquarter Road. Police say a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, driven by 19-year-old Shiv Sharma, was traveling eastbound on Hull Street Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

Terri Asbury was working in an ice cream truck nearby where the wreck occurred. She said the accident sounded like “a big explosion.”

I heard it as I was at the window and I looked over,” she said. “I see these cars, and it sounded like a big explosion. Sad. Totally sad. As a parent I couldn’t even imagine. Such a young age.”

Police are still investigating the crash.
