Marietta, GA : Two dead, four children injured after a wreck in Mableton early Monday morning, June 20, 2016

Two Powder Springs residents were killed and four children seriously injured early Monday morning after a wreck in Mableton, according to Cobb police.

Katrina E. Morris, 27, and Rodney D. Smith, 28, died on the scene of the wreck, which happened at about 4 a.m. on Clay Road near Flint Hill Road near South Cobb High School, said Cobb police officer Alicia Chilton.

Morris was driving a green 1998 Honda Passport heading west on Clay Road approaching Flint Hill Road when she lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason, Chilton said. The SUV left the road and crashed into a tree on the northern shoulder.

Morris and Smith were pronounced dead on the scene. Four children who were in the back seat of the vehicle were seriously injured in the wreck. They were transported to Scottish-Rite Hospital.
