CASS COUNTY, MI : 2 injured after motorcycle crashes on Cass County highway on Wednesday, 29h May 2024

Two people were rushed to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a motorcycle crashed in rural Cass County.

Deputies were called around 3:30 p.m. to Marcellus Highway and Griffis Road. They say the motorcycle had mechanical issues, which caused the driver to cross the center line and crash in the eastbound lane.

The driver, a 54-year-old Decatur man, was airlifted to the hospital. His passenger, a 44-year-old Elkhart woman, was taken to the hospital by an ambulance.

Their current conditions are unclear, but police say neither of them were wearing helmets.

The crash remains under investigation.
