Three children and two adults were taken to the hospital after a school bus and pickup truck were involved in a crash at the intersection of Shorefield Drive and Deacon Boulevard Tuesday morning.
Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools spokeswoman Alexandria Hoskins says 12 students were heading from various schools to Wake Forest University for vocational training when the wreck occurred.
Hoskins says the initial reports shows the truck driver ran a red light. The injuries are expected to be non-life-threatening.
The bus driver and one student were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and two additional students were taken to Forsyth Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
