Reno,NV : Monday's deadly crash in south Reno on September, Monday 18th 2017
Authorities have released additional details and the name of the victim in Monday's deadly crash in south Reno.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, crews responded to the single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at 3:14 p.m.
The car was found off the roadway near South Virginia Street and South Hills Drive, NHP said.
The initial investigation shows a white 2010 Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on South Virginia Street, when -- for reasons unknown -- the Nissan veered to the left, crossed the center turn lane, and the two northbound lanes. The Nissan traveled off the roadway, through a barbed wire fence, and struck the post of a billboard sign on the east side of South Virginia Street.
The driver has been identified as 75-year-old Edward Lynn Hess of Reno, who is said to have died on scene. The cause of his death has not been determined, but is possibly a medically-related issue.
