Loveland, CO : Driver killed after crashing SUV into light pole in south Boulder on Saturday, January, 27th 2018

A 39-year-old man was killed this morning after crashing a SUV into a light pole on Table Mesa Drive at Moorhead Avenue in south Boulder, police said.

Police received a report at 6:17 a.m. of a tan SUV driving erratically in Boulder. Shortly after that, police received multiple reports that the SUV had crashed into a light pole.

Officers, paramedics and firefighters responded to the crash, and discovered that the driver was dead. No one else was believed to have been in the vehicle at the time, and police do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The Boulder County Coroner's Office will release the man's identity once next of kin are notified, and will conduct an investigation to determine the cause and manner of his death. Police said he was a resident of Aurora.

This morning, Boulder police had closed westbound Table Mesa Drive closed just west of the U.S. 36 interchange to investigate the crash. Wastbound traffic on Table Mesa also was reduced to one lane at Moorhead and all northbound and southbound traffic on Moorhead was closed north of Table Mesa Drive.

All roads now have reopened.
