Sandy Township, PA : Deputies investigating deadly crash in Sandy Township on Wednesday, 14th November 2018

A male motorist was killed and another motorist was injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in the 6400 block of Waynesburg Drive SE (state Route 43), near Indian Run Avenue SE.

“It was a head-on collision,” said Maj. C.J. Stantz of the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, identified as David Barringer, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8 p.m. Wednesday by the county Coroner’s Office. Chief Investigator Harry Campbell of the coroner’s staff was not certain of the victim’s precise address, but said he lived in Canton.

County sheriff deputies responded to the crash shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies did not have details available regarding which direction the two vehicles had been traveling.

The other motorist was transported to a hospital. The crash was about three miles north of Waynesburg. The road had to be temporarily closed while authorities secured the crash scene.
