RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA : California 7-year-old dies in freak sledding accident near Palm Springs on Sunday, 14th March 2021

A 7-year-old boy died in a freak sledding accident in the mountains near Palm Springs Sunday.

Michael Rigg was sledding in the mountain town of Idyllwild-Pine Cove Sunday afternoon when he accidentally collided with a 2020 Ford Transit cargo van.

According to the Desert Sun in Palm Springs, the boy sledded down a driveway and slid under the van, sustaining severe injuries in the crash.
