Opelika, AL : Teen killed in I-85 crash near Shorter on Friday, November 25th 2016
A 13-year-old Louisiana boy was killed Friday when the pickup he was riding in crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 85 near Shorter.
State troopers from the Opelika post investigated the accident, which occurred at 10:14 a.m. Friday at the 23.3-mile-marker on I-85.
The single-vehicle crash claimed the life of the teen, from Metarie, La., after their 2006 Chevrolet pickup left the roadway and hit the guardrail.
The teen was pronounced dead a short time later at Baptist Medical Center South, in Montgomery. No information was immediately available about the driver or if any other passengers were in the truck.
No additional details were available late Friday and troopers continue to investigate the accident.
