Salt Lake City, UT : A man is dead in a crash in Hyde Park on May, Thursday 11th 2017

A man is dead after a Thursday morning crash in Hyde Park.

Police identified the deceased man as 61-year-old Curtis F. Nilson, of Smithfield.

The crash occurred just before 9 a.m. on U.S. Highway 91, near 4000 North, according to a news release from North Park police. Witnesses told police that Nilson's car had drifted left out of its lane and crossed the median before striking a pickup truck head-on.

Nilson was pronounced dead at the scene, and the truck's 40-year-old driver was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
