NEILLSVILLE, WI : A Chippewa Falls man was injured when the car he was driving crash on May, Thursday 4th 2017
A Chippewa Falls man was injured when the car he was driving crashed with a semi-trailer truck Thursday on Highway 29 near River Avenue, according to the Clark County sheriff’s office.
Clark County officials were notified at 4:01 p.m. of the incident. Police found a 2010 Mazda driven by Robert Thorson, 63, was blocking the westbound lane of traffic. The semi, driven by Jason Shoemaker, 41, of Wells, Minn., was in the median.
Reports indicate the semi was passing Thorson’s car in westbound lanes when the car switched lanes in front of the semi and the truck was unable to stop before colliding with the car. Police said neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the collision.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Thorson was extricated from the car and taken to a hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. Shoemaker was not injured. No citations were issued.
