ST. PETERSBURG, FL : Fatal crash shuts down Interstate 275 southbound lanes in St. Petersburg on Friday, 5th October 2018

A fatal crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 275 just west of 22nd Street S shut down all southbound lanes of the highway.
As of 6 p.m. traffic was only getting by on the shoulder, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Officials said a dump truck crashed into another car in the I-275 northbound lanes at about 3:10 p.m. The dump truck traveled into the median, hit a guardrail and flipped over.
The driver was thrown from the truck. Dirt spilled into two southbound lanes of the interstate. Northbound lanes are still open.
