Beaumont, TX : Fatal accident in Port Arthur over the weekend on Saturday, 1st October 2016

Saturday, Oct. 1 about 4 p.m., several 911 calls came into the Port Arthur Police Department reporting an accident with injuries at Gulfway Drive and San Antonio Avenue.

Officers responding to the scene discovered a GMC pickup that collided with a Toyota, trapping four people inside.

PAPD freed three injured people from the Toyota, but the other passenger was deceased. Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam identified the deceased as Bridgette Miles-Davis, 57, of Port Arthur.

PAPD’s investigation revealed that the GMC pickup had been headed west on Gulfway Drive and the Toyota was eastbound on Gulfway and attempted to turn left onto San Antonio in front of the pickup when the collision occurred.

No charges have been filed as the investigation is pending.
