LAS VEGAS, NV : 2 people died in fatal crash near Boulder Highway and Sahara on Sunday, 8th September 2024

Two people were killed in a crash in east Las Vegas early Sunday morning, according to police.

The crash was reported just after 4 a.m. at Sahara and Glen avenues, just west of Boulder Highway, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Investigators believe a Toyota Corolla was speeding east on Sahara when it failed to negotiate a curve in the road.


The Toyota left the road, crashed through a short retaining wall, and drove into the parking lot of a nearby Dotty's. It then hit the rear of a Cadillac XT6 exiting onto Sahara and continued east before hitting a parked Nissan Altima, which was unoccupied.

Medical personnel pronounced the Toyota's driver, a 23-year-old identified as Israel Huerta Alfaro, and a front passenger, a 31-year-old woman, dead at the scene. Their deaths mark the 104th and 105th traffic-related fatalities in LVMPD's jurisdiction so far this year.

A rear passenger was taken to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Cadillac was not injured.
