Rochester, N.H : Dover man badly hurt in Rochester crash on Friday morning, February 17, 2017
A Dover man was transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries after his car collided with a box truck Friday morning.
According to the initial investigation by Rochester Police, Josiah Davies, 27, of Dover, was driving south on Rochester Hill Road in a Ford Focus when he crossed the center line into the northbound lane and collided with a Kenworth T370 cargo truck operated by Raymond Bishop, 67, of Strafford, who was traveling northbound. The crash occurred at approximately 6 a.m.
Davies was initially entrapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated, police said in a release. After extrication, Davies was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment. Police said the airbags in Davies's vehicle deployed, but they are unsure if he was wearing a seat belt. Bishop was uninjured in the crash.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene, police said. The portion of Rochester Hill Road between Continental Boulevard and Tebbetts Road was closed for approximately two hours while Davies was extricated, the collision was investigated and the vehicles were removed.
Rochester Police, Fire and New Hampshire State Police also responded to the crash.
