GREENWICH, CT : Police chase suspects from Cos Cob to Stamford on Monday, 25th December 2017
Police arrested two juveniles on car-theft charges after a high-speed chase ended in a crash in Stamford.
Authorities are seeking additional suspects in the stolen-car case, which began at 11:40 p.m. Monday in Cos Cob.
Police said an officer observed two cars in the roadway at the entrance ramp to I-95 at exit 4, at Indian Field Road. The two cars were stopped alongside each other, side by side, while the light was green. When an officer pulled up behind the vehicles, the cars took off onto I-95 at a high rate of speed.
Officers pursued the two vehicles, an Audi and a Honda Civic, north on the highway. Officers followed the Honda near exit 6 at Harvard Street in Stamford. It struck a light pole and a parked car. Two juveniles, 17-year-olds from Bridgeport, were taken into custody, and a third escaped on foot. Police were unable to find the Audi or determine whether it had been stolen. The Honda had been reported stolen from Bridgeport.
The two teens were taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment. Stamford police assisted and sent a canine unit to search for the suspect who fled the scene.
