The wreck happened in the 4900 block of South Main Street near Grace Church Road around 1 a.m. The Highway Patrol says Tillman was driving south and crossed the center line, hitting Williams’ car.

Emergency responders found both drivers dead at the scene.

Both Tillman and Williams were wearing seatbelts and their airbags deployed, but the two drivers were trapped inside. There were no other passengers in either vehicles. A report indicates both were going the posted 55 mph speed limit.

The report also says it appears Tillman was in the outside lane and drifted across the center turn lane and struck William’s vehicle, which was also in the outside lane heading north toward Salisbury.
