Sandusky Township, OH :Teen cited in crash that injured 2 at US 6 and Ohio 53 on Friday, July 10th 2015
An Oak Harbor teen was cited for failing to yield to a car in a two-vehicle crash at U.S. 6 and Ohio 53 in which two passengers were injured.Jacob Smith, 17, was cited in Friday’s crash after failing to yield to a car while attempting to turn north onto U.S. 6.Smith’s 2014 Kia Optima crashed into a 2010 Honda Fit driven by Eric Lo, 68, of West Jordan, Utah, that was westbound on Ohio 53.The impact caused Lo’s vehicle to roll over, coming to rest on the driver’s side door.Passengers Cheryl Lo, 57 and Kalia Gallagher, 8, both of West Jordan, Utah, were taken by EMS to Fremont Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.“The injuries were minor because all were wearing their seatbelts,” said Lt. Matt Meridith of the Ohio Highway Patrol.The crash, which happened shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, slowed traffic as crews cleaned up debris from the scene.
