Albany, OR : Man injured in Highway 20 crash near Tombstone Pass on Friday, August 4, 2017
A man sustained unknown injuries Friday evening after his car struck a tree along Highway 20, near Tombstone Pass.
The incident was reported at about 6:19 p.m.
According to Sweet Home Fire & Ambulance District Chief David Barringer, crews found the driver pinned in his vehicle and extricated him with the "jaws of life." Barringer did not know the extent of the man's injuries, but said he had at least a broken arm. He was then transported via LifeFlight to a local hospital.
No further information, including the driver's identity, was immediately available.
The Oregon State Police, Upper McKenzie Rural Fire Protection District and U.S. Forest Service were also at the scene. The Oregon Department of Forestry helped clear a landing zone for the LifeFlight helicopter.
