Queensbury, N.Y : Man seriously injured in car-pedestrian crash Upper Glen Street on Tuesday night, February 14, 2017
A 20-year-old man suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a car while crossing Upper Glen Street on Tuesday night, police said.
Parker Reimche was taken to Albany Medical Center via helicopter after the 8:19 p.m. collision near the Price Chopper store, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Police said he tried to run across the road and ran in front of a northbound Chrysler sedan, which could not avoid hitting him. There is no crosswalk in the area, and police said he was wearing dark clothing.
The driver of the car, Della Howley, 74, of Queensbury, was not hurt and not ticketed.
Reimche was conscious at the scene, and was flown out after being treated by West Glens Falls Rescue Squad personnel. He was listed in fair condition Wednesday morning at Albany Med.
Sheriff's Patrol Officer John DeCristofaro and Investigator Jason Palmer are investigating.
