Miami Twp, OH : Three people injured including two children in a rollover crash on I-675 in Miami Township on Wednesday, April 1, 2015
The Ohio Highway Patrol says two vehicles were involved in a crash that injured three people on Interstate 675.
A car on Northbound I-675, driven by Sean Stapleton, 25, of Kettering, was in the left lane and drifted into the right lane and struck an SUV, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. That SUV, driven by Veronica Salorcano, 30, of Dayton, went off the highway and into a ditch, rolling over and coming to a rest on its top.
Her 10-year-old son was ejected from the SUV, according to troopers. Salorcano, her son, and her six-year-old daughter were taken to area hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The highway was shut down for a brief time for emergency crews before the far left lane was reopened.
Troopers said they are unsure if either child was properly secured by a seat belt or in a child safety seat.
The mother could face a citation if the investigation finds that the children were not properly secured inside the SUV according to Ohio Highway Patrol Sgt. Jerod Keyes. Stapleton was cited for failing to control his vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
