AURORA, CO : Pedestrian killed suspected drunk driver arrested after Aurora crash on Sunday, 22nd September 2024

Police in Aurora are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian and led to the arrest of a suspected drunk driver Sunday morning.

It happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of S. Parker Road and S. Peoria Street, near RTD’s Nine Mile Station.

Police said a 24-year-old male driver of an Infiniti SUV was speeding southbound on S. Parker Road when he lost control, crashed into another vehicle, and struck and killed a man walking in the area.

Police said the Infinity also downed a light pole and two trees before coming to a rest in the intersection.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity has not been released. The occupants in both vehicles were uninjured.
