CEDAR RAPIDS, IA : Fatal car accident in Cedar Rapids on Sunday, 17th November 2024

A man died in a car accident that occured tonight in Cedar Rapids.

Around 5:30 Sunday evening, Cedar Rapids police responded to a report of a single car accident with an injured driver and downed power lines near 2665 Old River Road SW.

Upon arrival, officers found 75 year old James Jones unresponsive and bleeding from the head. Area Ambulance and Cedar Rapids Fire Department arrived to administer medical treatment, but Jones was pronounced dead just before 9:20 PM.

Next of kin has been notified and the accident is still under investigation.
