Pittsburg ,NH: Two women hurt after ATV crashes on Saturday ,August 29th 2015

Two Massachusetts women were hurt after crashing two all-terrain vehicles in Pittsburg, New Hampshire, Saturday.

Fish and Game conservation officers said Jillian Walsh, 24, of Pembroke, Massachusetts, was driving on Beach Road just after 1:30 p.m. when her ATV malfunctioned. She veered off the road and was thrown to the pavement.

The ATV rolled over and struck several trees. Conservation officers said speed and mechanical failure were factors in the crash.

Amy Heath, 27, of Halifax, Massachusetts, another rider in Walsh's group, then tried to turn her ATV around to help Walsh.

The vehicle reportedly rolled over and threw Heath to the ground.

Walsh and Heath were both taken to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, New Hampshire, and treated for their injuries.

Both women were wearing helmets and were not seriously injured, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
