Logansport, IN : Woman injured after ATV crash on Sunday, April 9, 2017

Indiana Conservation Officers say a 19-year-old Logansport woman was injured and had to be airlifted to a Fort Wane hospital following a Sunday afternoon ATV crash.

The incident occurred at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, April 9, in the 5000 block of East 150 North. Michelle Montano, 19, Logansport, was driving a Suzuki Ozark 250 cc ATV at approximately 30 mph when for some unknown reason she crossed the roadway and collided with a fence, according to an Indiana Department of Natural Resources press release.

Montano was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, officers say.

Medics transported Montano by Prompt Ambulance Services to Logansport Memorial Hospital where she was then sent via Samaritan helicopter to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne

Montano sustained multiple abrasions, trauma to the neck area and abrasions to the abdomen. She was listed in critical condition as of Sunday night, according to the release.

Walton Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
