Woman dies as car hits tree

Vermont State Police say a 52-year-old Randolph woman has died when her car struck a tree in Randolph. Speed is suspected as a contributing cause of the accident Friday evening on Davis Road. Police say Carol Rittenhouse was traveling northwest on Davis Road when she lost control of her vehicle, which left the road and collided with a tree. She was not wearing her seatbelt.
